'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Richardson Discusses Goalkeepers

Leam Richardson has talked about Paul Rachubka and Cameron Belford.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph Richardson said he would consider bringing Belford back to the despite honouring the agreement made with Rachubka.

Rachubka remains with us until the end of the season now as we know, but his contract at Leeds us up in the summer and the gaffer thinks we could be the ideal place for him next season.

'We had a gentleman's agreement that we would try to do something for the season and we've both stuck to that,' Richardson said of the Rachubka deal, before then also saying that if the agreement had been made with Belford instead, he would've still equally honoured that.

'It's left Cameron, not second choice, but we'd already made that agreement. He's someone I'll keep my eye on and look to work with in the future because I think he did really well. He's a great lad.'

As for Rachubka's contract situation, Richardson added.

'He's out of contract in the summer so first and foremost he needs a job next year. He's fully aware of that. He wants to play football, he wanted to come and play for Accrington, which is quite refreshing, and they're the type of people we want.'

In the rest of the interview Leam also discusses his experience from his first transfer window when he joined the club, describing it as 'stressful' but that he quickly learnt not to get downhearted when a target fell through, you just pick yourself up and make sure you have options for positions.
