Following the earlier news that Accrington had a mini cash flow problem when it came to paying all wages, the chairman has released a statement to fans.
Speaking to the Official Site the chairman admitted it was an embarrassing event but stated that by the end of business on Friday, the club would be fully back up to date on wages.
'This month for the very first time under my chairmanship the players' wages were not paid on time. This is deeply embarrassing for me and the Board. Like all businesses we experience cashflow peaks and troughs. We hit one of those troughs. I am pleased to advise that by tomorrow we will be fully up to date.'
Marsden goes on to explain that the Board are now putting in place initiatives to ensure that this unfortunate episode cannot happen again this season, and he encourages the fans to get right behind the team as we look for the points we need to stay in the division.
