Players Respond To Richardson Departure

Players Respond To Richardson Departure

A number of players have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions on the departure of Leam Richardson.

Francis Jeffers said.

'Gaffer has gone, wish him all the best in his new job. Enjoyed playing for him over the past couple of months.'

Lee Molyneux said.

'So the gaffer has officially gone. Good luck to him. Done a good job this year and gave me a chance playing.'

Managing Director Rob Hays told the BBC.

'For Leam to decide that he wants to move on did come as a shock. You have to say 'that's football'. There will always be other opportunities. When Paul (Cook) left there were some conversations regarding him wanting to take Leam with him. We'd like to think we made him a good offer to stay and that proved to be the right thing to do. Now we've reached the end of the season, Leam's decided his future lies elsewhere.'

Having held the hotseat it still does seem a strange move to become an assistant, but again, disappointing as it might be, Leam has a lot to learn and that is what's open to him before he becomes his own man again now.
