Beattie Gets Sharp Backing

Former Everton striker Graeme Sharp has backed James Beattie to succeed at Accrington in his new role as manager.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the friendly encounter between the two clubs, he said of Beattie.

'One thing I will say about the younger generation of managers is that they do seem to have fresh ideas. I'm sure James will go into Accrington and will get his authority across early.'

Sharp said that one thing Stanley fans can be excited about is the contact list Beattie will bring with him given the amount of people he knows in the game.
