Beattie Content To Share Points

Manager James Beattie has said that he was content enough with a draw against Bury last night as it still keeps us ahead of them in the league table.

It would be fair to say Bury had most of the game, especially following the point that we were reduced to ten men with the sending off of Laurence Wilson just after the half hour mark, but a gritty and battling display - no doubt hugely helped by the form of on loan goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli - saw Accrington Stanley walk out with a share of the spoils and probably left Bury wondering how they didn't find the net.

Speaking to the press following the game, Beattie said all he ever asks the players for really is for them to give 100% during 90 minutes, and they more than did that last night.

'We defended as a unit and we were tremendous. We showed resolution, heart and desire and I am proud of the way we played for 60 minutes with ten men.'

As for the sending off, Beattie says he felt that Wilson got a touch on the ball but clearly the referee disagreed, believed it was reckless and that it was two footed - which Wilson disagrees with saying it was only one footed - but highlights will clear that one up won't they.

Beattie says as much himself in terms of taking a look at it himself.

The gaffer also obviously had huge praise for Bettinelli who he called top class throughout the game, and commented again that he's proving he is going to a big future in the game as long as he keeps applying himself and developing the way that he is.
