Hughes In Team Of The Week (11/4/17)

Hughes In Team Of The Week (11/4/17)

Accrington Stanley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Mark Hughes in the three two victory over Crewe Alexandra at the weekend at the Crown Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Hughes was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Named the EFL Player of the Day for his performance on Saturday afternoon, Hughes scored his first brace in professional football in Accrington`s win over Crewe Alexandra. After a slow start defensively, falling 2-0 behind, the centre-back inspired the comeback victory which extended Stanley`s unbeaten run to 13 matches.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Hughes for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Stuart Moore (Luton Town), Mark Hughes (Accrington Stanley), David Mirfin (Scunthorpe United), Ryan McLaughlin (Oldham Athletic), Tarique Fosu (Colchester United), Tom Owen-Evans (Newport County), Alex Pritchard (Norwich City), Gabriel Obertan (Wigan Athletic), Kemar Roofe (Leeds United), Tammy Abraham (Bristol City), Sam Jones (Grimsby Town).

Manager - Mark Warburton (Nottingham Forest).
