Northampton Town vs. Accrington Stanley

Sixfields Stadium

Saturday 14th August 2010

3:00pm

What a load of Cobblers!

JOHN Coleman takes his Accrington Stanley side to Sixfields Stadium this afternoon, with the Reds on a high after their midweek cup heroics.

Stanley overcame Championship side Doncaster Rovers in the First Round of the Carling Cup at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday evening, but had to play 120 minutes of football as the tie went into extra time.

And now the East Lancashire club will be looking to get their first league win of the season, after kicking off their campaign last weekend with a goalless bore draw against Aldershot Town at the Crown Ground.

Accrington Stanley Team News:

The Reds should be able to call upon Charlie Barnett again after the midfielder missed the midweek clash with Doncaster through injury.

Rory Boulding is likely to remain sidelined though with an achilles problem, which means Craig Lindfield is to remain as the loan striker in an attacking Stanley formation.

'Rory won`t be fit for tomorrow, he isn`t 100% yet but hopefully next week he will be back,' said Coleman speaking to the official website.

Alex Cisak looks is in line for his first league start of the season aswel after impressing on Tuesday evening.

Player to watch: Craig Lindfield

The former Liverpool man is back fit again and ready to hit the scoring charts.

He scored a close range effort against Sean O'Driscoll's men in the cup to hand Stanley the victory, and that is only going to boost his confidence.

The Fact if the game

Last season the Reds conceded a total of seven goals to Northampton Town and failed to hit the back of their net, something which has to change this afternoon.

Match Prediction:

Northampton Town 1-2 Accrington Stanley.
