'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Most teams would be delighted by a point

ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman last night insisted that a lot of teams in npower League Two, would be 'delighted by a point' away at Northampton Town.

The game finished goalless, the second 0-0 draw in a row for the Reds, but it was another clean sheet and another defensive confidence boost for Stanley who shipped goals last season.

Coleman's men conceded seven goals in the sides' two league meetings last term, and the gaffer was happy to come away with an even share this time around.

'A lot of teams who'll come here will be delighted with a point and obviously they saw a more spirited Accrington today than they saw last season home and away.' said Coleman speaking to the official accringtonstanley.co.uk website.

'I'm still disappointed with the way we played.

'I thought we gave possession away a bit cheaply and when we got into good areas we rushed it or we slipped over. There was a question mark over the footwear on some of the players.

'But we stuck to our task, worked ever so hard in the game considering we'd gone to extra time on Tuesday and they'd played against ten men for an hour.'

Well done Accrington, you stiffled our midfield by playing 5 in the middle of the park, making it very difficult for us to create chances. Good luck for the season!
