Shrews Res 0-0 Stanley Res
A STRONG Accrington Stanley Reserves side could only manage a goalless draw away at Shrewsbury Town on Wednesday evening.

John Coleman made sure that no fewer than ten first team players travelled with the Reserves in order to get some vital game time under their belts in the run up to Christmas.

The only player in the starting line up who was not part of the first team at the Crown Ground was 2nd year scholar Ben Whitcomb, who again bolstered his chances of earning a professional deal at the end of the season.

It was an evenly contested game with both sides having their fair share of chances, Ray Putterill with the best of the bunch for the Reds, while at the other end Alex Cisak was kept busy between the sticks, making a number of fine stops.

ACCRINGTON STANLEY (4-5-1): Cisak; Bateson, Hall, Murphy, Whitcomb; Richardson, Parkinson, Joyce, Putterill, McConville; Boulding.

SUBS: Rimmer, Lawler, Evans, Larner, O'Connell.
